With 15 resorts in the Lake Tahoe region and seven ski resorts in North Lake Tahoe alone, you might not have time for anything else but skis and boards. But there is so much more to do in the grand area in the Sierra Mountains. There are two hundred trails just for the cross country skier. Snowmobiling is definitely on the menu, along with dog or horse drawn sled and sleigh rides. You can take the whole family to one of the quaint mountain top ice rinks and create some great icy memories. Want to see the mountains up close, but can't handle the speed of a pair of skis or a snow board? Strap on some snow shoes, or during the "off season", take a long, breath-taking (in more ways than one) hike. Lake Tahoe Water Sports, Fishing Tours & Boating

The summer can be just as fun, as there is this big lake here to hang out at. Take to the beach, or spend a day boating on the grand Lake Tahoe. Water ski, Jet Ski fish, kayaks on waters that are challenging but not ocean-sized. The temperature here averages about 70 degrees during the summer months, ideal for just about any outdoor activity. You can even spend an enjoyable day on the beach or doing a little swimming. This type of weather, though, is ideal for another Lake Tahoe mainstay - golfing. There are forty six golf courses in the area, making it almost impossible to get away with a golf-free summer vacation in a traditionally winter wonderland. Take a mountain biking trip to rev up your metabolism, then thrill to a hot air balloon ride or maybe even some hang gliding or sky diving. The beauty of the Sierras and this special place is a memory maker no matter when you visit.
